We’d love for you to join us!

Game Joy with Mikayla Sinead (Thursday 13th October 6pm - 8pm)
‘On Thursday 13th October we are joined by the wonderful Mikayla with Game Joy. This is an event series for Adults to (re)connect with video games as a well-being tool. We welcome you to enjoy video games in a relaxed environment with all experience levels welcomed.’

Studio 25 (Thursday 20th October 7pm - 9pm)
‘We are gassed to be joined by Screama for Studio 25. If music can be used to mobilise, and at YARD we strive for a world towards liberation, it is only right that we organise a link up with the dope beat turned up and see how free writing can lead to songs of freedom. We’ll have a central provocation to explore, free writing and recording across 2 hours.
All abilities/levels of experience are welcome. Come and see how music and songwriting can help us work through complexity and imagine new possibilities.’

Yard Talks (Tuesday 25th October 6:30pm- 8:30pm)
Open conversations collectively building an Artists' manifesto.

Neighborhood Playground Design with Andre Anderson (Thursday 27th October 6pm - 8pm)
‘When André started his art college Freedom & Balance, he wanted to see what would happen when we take some of the world’s richest creative practices, and make them accessible enough for our neighbours to play with.
If we were to build playful, learning environments where our communities grow together, what could it look like?
In this creative session, we will explore some of the principles that allow design and imagination thinking to be accessible to all.’

Healer in Residence (During Rest & Reason)
‘Healing and rest is an essential part of any justice movement and each week we will invite a Healer to be in residence with us to provide a selection of wellness practices to YARD. Mindfulness with Kareen Griffiths will be happening from October 5th - October 12th.’

Reasoning (During Open House)
Whilst we tuck into delicious food from either Chae Creates or Vegan Vybes every Thursday, we’ll all join around the table to reason on a different provocation between 1pm - 2pm. Check out our Instagram to find out the provocation each week!

Artist Kitchen (During Artist Drop in)
‘Each week an artist showcases a project they’ve been working on or an idea they’d like to share. We are excited to get to hear what folks are making/dreaming up, build a regular community of artists and make space for folks to get feedback from peers, reflect on practice and talk through ideas in their earliest forms.’
